Thyreos is a specialized, independent consulting firm founded by Brian Besser, a seasoned and accomplished senior operations executive renowned for his ability to build high-performance teams and strengthen organizational integrity. With a career rooted in servant leadership and a stalwart commitment to excellence, Mr. Besser has effectively led complex global operations and compliance initiatives that have mitigated agency risk and safeguarded sensitive data and reputations worldwide.
Leveraging 34 years of extensive public safety sector experience, Mr. Besser champions a collaborative, "working-together" philosophy that prioritizes individuals as the cornerstone of organizational success. His distinguished career with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) encompassed numerous leadership assignments nationwide, including his role as Director of the DEA’s Diversion Control Program in Washington, D.C. In this position, he was responsible for overseeing the regulation of more than 2 million registrants across the pharmaceutical supply chain and led nationwide initiatives to prevent and investigate the diversion of controlled substances and listed chemicals. Under his relationship-focused leadership, Mr. Besser successfully guided a diverse team of 1,700 professionals in support of the DEA’s mission.
